Well, the jobs report for June is out and it is horrible. And some people are surprised. Are they just looking at the wrong dials? Are they stupid? Are they high?
Jobs: 18,000
Official unemployment rate: 9.2% (even without the stimulus it’d never go above 9.0%

That is a phenomenon that is seen often in Europe, rarely seen here. In 2007 the average time to get a new job was five weeks. It’s now near six months. And that implies a whole segment of the population, the more elderly or the middle-aged who may never get employed again
