Scott A. Gibbs,
MRP, MBA is President at the
Economic Development Foundation of Rhode Island (EDFRI).
EDFRI is a private, not-for-profit development organization that has
specialized in real estate driven economic development strategies.
For the past 2 years, Scott has been trying to steer the organization in
a
new direction based on his belief that the economic development
profession is failing to add value to local and regional economies.

Scott earned his BA in Political Science at Wabash College in 1977. He earned his Master in Regional Planning (MRP) at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1981. He earned his MBA in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services at Suffolk University — Sawyer School of Management in 1993. He is currently completing his Doctoral Learner in Business at the University of Phoenix.
