Jessica Garretson

Jessica Garretson is the CEO of Cognis Group, with more than 20 years of experience in Marketing Strategy, Demand Generation, and P&L Management among others.

At Cognis Group, Jess serves as the executive leader for Strategic Intellectual Property research consultancy that serves startup and established life science brands. She leads operations, organizational management, and strategic direction with Profit and Loss responsibility.

With their project Pharmalicensing, Jess and Cognis Group are trying to commercialize The Life Sciences by forming new partnerships and bringing together technology scouts, business development professionals, and the life science, pharmaceuticals, and medical device industries innovators.

Previously, Jess worked as Account Leader at The Integer Group for 15 years, starting in 2003. She served as a trusted senior business consultant for Fortune 500 companies, managing a $10 million portfolio of businesses and separate agency teams across offices in Denver, Colorado, and New York City.

Jess graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from Advertising and Psychology in 1997.

In 1998, she became the Account Manager at Baumgarten Distribution and learned a lot about wines in general, as she also planned and orchestrated the marketing for wine events and had the pleasure of delivering tasting notes commentary during the occasions.

She continued as Marketing and Event Director at KMOX Infinity Broadcasting, where she was responsible for the development and execution of station marketing campaigns. She secured media sponsorships and worked closely with KMOX radio hosts to write and deliver endorsements and promotions.

In 2001, Jess became Regional Marketing Manager at Miller Brewing Company, before she joined The Integer Group in 2003.
