Ian Monroe, M.S.

Ian Monroe, M.S. is Webmaster at Acceler8or.com and Web Producer at ABA Journal.
 
Ian is responsible for the technical operations of Acceler8or.com, a web site dedicated to publishing cutting-edge articles about futurism, new technology, and counterculture. He has worked directly with the editor-in-chief, noted cyberculture author R.U. Sirius, to create and maintain the site from the ground up, including server support, CMS installation and customization, web design, theme programming, advertising operations, and content production.
 
He also updated content and code for ABA Journal, a trade magazine-associated news website operated by the American Bar Association. Web content production included processing and formatting magazine copy, editing and posting web video and audio podcasts, and email newsletter production. He worked deeply within the ExpressionEngine 1.6 CMS, including template development, in a LAMP environment. He redesigned and restructured mobile web offerings, and built mobile apps for Android and iOS using PhoneGap and jQuery Mobile.

Ian earned his B.S. in Liberal Studies — Computer Information Technology at University of Central Florida in 2001. He earned his M.S. in Journalism at Northwestern University — Medill School of Journalism in 2009.
