Singularity University Ambassador for Italy.
Francesco is passionate about science and technology, bio-nano-tech, and
robotics
in particular and he loves helping people and organizations overcome
barriers and explore new territories.
With Axelera, Francesco actively promotes education on exponential
technologies and dynamics in Italy and he organized the Singularity
University Italian contests in 2012 and 2013.
In 2011 and 2012 he consulted for various companies, solving problems
in:
- Business Development and Sales (Socialbakers.com, MBA-Partners.com)
- Technology Scouting (Venetwork.it, MBA-Partners.com)
- Change Management (Roche.com)
- Exponential technology education (Digitalaccademia.com)
His work career begun as a research engineer at the Laboratoire de Physique Statistique of École Normale Supérieure in Paris, building tools to explore how proteins and DNA interact.
Francesco earned his Laurea in Theoretical Physics at Université degli Studi di Padova, Italy in 2003 with the thesis “A monopole field as order parameter for confinement”. In 2002, as an Erasmus exchange student, he attended the MSc in Physics, Quantum Fields, and Fundamental Forces at Imperial College London, UK, where he wrote a dissertation on “Lattice QCD”.
He earned his Ph.D. in Biophysics at Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy and at Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), France in 2008 with the thesis “Fluctuations in Biological molecules: tools to probe mechanical and structural properties of DNA and proteins”. He graduated Singularity University in 2011.
Francesco is also an adventurer, he traveled alone in South America for more than 7 months and he managed a mountain refuge at 11,000 feet on top of a glacier.
