Professor Eilam Gross
Eilam
Gross, Ph.D. is Full Professor, Department of Physics, Weizmann
Institute of Science, Israel. Eilam
is a member of the Weizmann Atlas Group and
was Higgs group co-convener at
the time of the discovery of the Higgs Boson (and still
is Higgs group co-convener).
His papers include
Asymptotic formulae for likelihood-based tests of new
physics,
Production and Decay of the Standard Model Higgs
Boson at LEP200,
Trial factors for the look elsewhere effect in high
energy physics,
Power-Constrained Limits,
LHC/LC Interplay in the MSSM Higgs Sector,
Higgs Statistics for Pedestrians,
Testing minimal lepton flavor violation with
extra vector-like leptons at the LHC,
Discovery significance with statistical uncertainty
in the background estimate, and
Using the Profile Likelihood in
Searches for New Physics.
Eilam earned his BSc in Physics with honors at the Hebrew
University in Jerusalem in 1984.
He earned his MSc in Physics with honors at the Feinberg Graduate
School,
Weizmann
Institute of Science in 1986 with the the thesis Consistent Closed String.
He earned his Ph.D. in Physics at the Feinberg Graduate School, Weizmann
Institute of Science in 1991.
