Dr. Dimitar V. Pachov

Dimitar V. Pachov, Ph.D. is Postdoctoral Fellow (Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Associate) at Brandeis University.
 
Dimitar is a physicist with broad inter-disciplinary experiences and interests. He is interested in working at the intersection of research that leads to exponential technological innovation and business that brings positive social and environmental impact.
 
He has:

• Excellent math skills and abstract thinking; modeling of complex systems (statistics, Markov state models, regression models, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc)
• Extensive experience in computational physics, biophysics, molecular dynamics, parallel computing, high performance computing (HPC), large scale heterogeneous systems computing (Stanford University [email protected] collaborator), big data.
• Proficient skills in Unix/Linux, Awk, Shell scripting, Tcl, Maple, Mathematica, LaTeX, CorelDraw, CHARMM, NAMD, Gromacs, VMD, Gnuplot. Experienced in Fortran, C, C++, BASIC, Java, Python, MySQL, CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, MS Office, Macromedia, Pymol, Desmond, GIMP, MATLAB, R, Origin, Windows, MPI library, Parallel environments, CUDA, OpenCL.

Dimitar earned his BS in Physics at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria in 2003 with the thesis “Particle Creation in Curved Space-Time”. He earned his MS in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria in 2004 with the thesis “Spinor Field Quantization in Homogeneous and Isotropic Medium”. He earned his second MS in Physics at Brandeis University, USA in 2005. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics at Brandeis University, USA in 2010 with the dissertation Conformational Transition Pathways in Signaling and Enzyme Catalysis Explored by Computational Methods. He graduated Singularity University in 2011.
