Desireé Duffy
is a futurist, writer, marketer, and
public relations professional.
She serves on the Alliance for Women in Media’s Southern California
Chapter’s Board of Directors as the Interim Co-President, is a
delegate for MILE, an XPRIZE Vanguard, and an advisory board member for
the Lifeboat Foundation.
During her early career, Desireé was a radio host, program
director, producer, and marketing professional with companies that
included the Museum of Television & Radio in Beverly Hills, (today known
as the Paley Center for Media), ESPN/Disney Radio, KFI-AM, and her own
marketing and PR consulting business.
From 2003 to 2005, Desireé served as president for the Southern
California Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television, now known
as the Alliance for Women in Media (AWM), a nonprofit membership
organization which supports women in media. She also was a member of
the national board of directors for the organization from 2006 to 2008.
Today she is back as the interim co-president, and also sits on the
chapter’s Advisory Board of Directors.
In 2005 she was offered a position as the Marketing and PR Director for
a consumer goods manufacturer, Vast Resources/Basic Solutions. This led
to her next move in April of 2011, when she joined the team at
CEN and JOPEN — two manufacturing companies that create intimate products
for women and couples. As the Director of Public Relations, she taps
into her various skillsets to develop creative marketing solutions.
Recent professional accomplishments include developing the company’s
online community which is dedicated to educating the public about sexual
health and wellness, building the infrastructure to produce in-house
corporate videos and digital content, the design and implementation of
several websites, and garnering recognition in major media.
A natural communicator and visionary, Desireé speaks in public,
writes about marketing, technology, and innovation, is the author of a
fiction novel, and uses her social media skills to promote worthwhile
scientific causes which she is passionate about.
She’s been instrumental in receiving numerous awards, including: Red Dot
Awards, Creativity International Awards, Marketing Campaign of the Year
Award for Coco Licious from SE Magazine, Best Social Media for an Online
Community from Sign Magazine, plus AWRT Bell Awards for Best
Programming, Best Website, and Best Public Relations Campaign.
A graduate of Marian University, Desireé holds Bachelor of Science
degrees in English, communication, and art. She also attended the
Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and is currently pursuing degrees
in anthropology and internet marketing. She lives in Southern
California.
