A grade 7 drop-out, she enrolled in Dalhousie University at the age of 12 in 2000.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physics and Computer Science in 2005, graduating with
First Class Honors and a university medal. That year she began her Ph.D. in
Plasma Physics at Princeton University. In 2007, she went on leave from the program
after realizing Plasma Physics was a far-off concern, whereas she wanted to
focus on the near-future.
