Dr. Clarence N.W. Tan

Clarence N.W. Tan, BSEE, MSISE, MBA (USC), Ph.D., FACS, F Fin (Aust), FInstBA, FBSC (UK) is Entrepreneur in Residence Fellow, Bond University/Gold Coast Innovation Centre; CEO and Chairman, Bond Wireless; Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Business, Bond University; and Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Griffith University.
 
His specialities include: SMS/Text messaging applications, M-Commerce, Artificial Intelligence, and Artificial Neural Networks Applications in Finance and Health.
 
Clarence founded Bond Wireless, which won the Asia Pacific International ICT Award in 2002 in Malaysia for Best Communication Application. He holds 2 patents for SMS Applications, one for a Secure SMS technology call SAV (SMS Authenticate and Verify) and the other for SMS Print, an application that makes sending a text message as simple as hitting the Print button a Windows-based PC.
 
Bond Wireless is both a Microsoft Certified Partner and a Sun Microsystems iForce Partner with business presence in Asean, Europe, China and the US.
 
Clarence earned his BSEE in Computer Science at the University of Southern California in 1986. He earned his MBA in Finance at the University of Southern California in 1989. He earned his MSISE in Human Factors/Human-Computer Interface at the University of Southern California in 1989. He earned his Ph.D. in Artificial Neural Network Applications in Finance at Bond University in 1997. He graduated Singularity University in 2011. He holds patent Method for Authenticating and Verifying SMS Communications.
 
He is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (FACS), an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA), a Senior Associate of the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance (AIBF), a member of a number of other professional bodies, including the Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA), Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Eta Kappa Nu, Omega Rho, and Alpha Pi Mu. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Business Administration (UK).
