Dr. Anca Ioviță
Anca Ioviță, M.D., M.Eng. is
a geriatrics physician and medical writer whose
early fascination with life extension prompted her to study both
engineering and medicine.
Anca is author of the
Longevity Letter blog and her books include
Eat Less, Live Longer: Your Practical Guide to Calorie Restriction with Optimal Nutrition,
The Aging Gap Between Species, and

Her favorite project has been writing
The Aging Gap Between Species
which is a journey of comparative gerontology from the
simplest to the most complex organisms known and what makes them age so
differently. There is a plethora of species displaying negligible
senescence, but the research done on them is scattered around in obscure
journals and the common mouse is still the de facto animal model when
studying aging.
Anca earned her Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at the
University Politehnica of Bucharest in 2009. She earned her Master’s degree
in Aerospace Engineering at the University Politehnica of Bucharest
in 2011. She earned her M.D. in General Medicine at
the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2011.
She completed her medical residency in
geriatrics and gerontology at the National Institute of Gerontology
and Geriatrics “Ana Aslan” in 2016.
